Certificates can only be issued on policies Ricardo manages. If you need a policy that comes with a responsive agent for certificates, start with contractors general liability or commercial auto.
Common questions
How fast can I get a certificate?
It depends on the request. Standard certificates on an existing policy are simpler; requests that need a new endorsement (for example, a new additional insured) depend on the carrier, because the carrier has to process the change.
What's the difference between a certificate holder and an additional insured?
A certificate holder just receives proof that you have coverage. An additional insured is actually added to your policy and can make a claim under it. Most GCs require the second one. Ricardo will tell you which your contract calls for.
Can a certificate change my coverage?
No. A certificate is a snapshot of coverage that exists. It doesn't add or change anything. Endorsements do that, and they go on the policy itself.
Do you charge for certificates?
No. Certificates for existing clients are part of the service.
Coverage availability, eligibility and pricing vary by carrier and are subject to underwriting. Nothing on this page guarantees a premium, savings, approval or coverage.
